Introduction

At JKMPCL, we take pride in not only delivering pure and nutritious dairy products to families across Jammu \& Kashmir, but also in maintaining complete transparency in our processing systems, quality checks, and cooperative operations. Our open-door approach reflects our belief that trust is built when people can see how their food is produced.

In this spirit, JKMPCL had the honour of hosting a high-level delegation from the Indian Army’s Northern Command, Udhampur. Their visit was an important moment for us, bringing together two institutions committed to service, discipline, and dedication.

The Army officers showed a deep interest in understanding how Snowcap dairy products are collected, processed, tested, and delivered with uncompromising standards of safety and quality. Their presence inspired our team and strengthened our mission to uphold excellence in every step of dairy production.

Indian Army’s Northern Command Visits JKMPCL to Observe Dairy Operations

On 17 November 2025, a distinguished team from the Army Headquarters Northern Command, Udhampur visited the JKMPCL facility. The delegation consisted of senior officers:

Major General R. R. Tewari

Colonel Snehal Trivedi

Major R. S. Pachar

Their visit aimed to gain firsthand insight into JKMPCL’s dairy operations, production systems, and quality management methods. The officers were keen to understand how JKMPCL maintains its promise of delivering safe, pure, and high-quality dairy products to households across the region.

A Detailed Walkthrough of JKMPCL’s Core Units

The visit included a guided tour of our primary operational units, where officers observed each stage of processing and quality assurance.

Production Unit – Understanding the Heart of Our Operations

The tour began at the Production Unit, where the officers were given a complete overview of how milk moves through the system—from reception and pasteurisation to chilling and final packaging.

Our team explained our daily workflow, safety practices, and hygiene protocols that ensure Snowcap products meet both national and internal quality standards. The officers appreciated the discipline, structured operations, and modern automation used within the unit.

Laboratory Section – Seeing Quality Control Up Close

The next stop was the Laboratory Section, where every batch of milk and dairy product undergoes strict testing before it reaches consumers.

The Army delegation was briefed on:

  • Chemical and microbial testing
  • Quality analysis parameters
  • Advanced laboratory equipment
  • Compliance with FSSAI standards and internal benchmarks

The officers observed how JKMPCL maintains accuracy and transparency in all quality checks, ensuring that only safe and pure dairy products move forward for packaging.

UHT Processing Unit – Technology That Preserves Purity

The visit continued with the UHT (Ultra-High Temperature) Processing Unit, one of JKMPCL’s most advanced sections.

Here, the officers learned how UHT technology eliminates harmful microorganisms while retaining the natural taste and nutrition of milk. They also observed the aseptic packaging line, which keeps UHT products fresh for longer without preservatives.

The delegation expressed appreciation for the high level of automation, hygiene, and efficiency maintained in this unit.

A Meaningful and Encouraging Interaction

The interaction between the Army delegation and JKMPCL teams was warm, insightful, and encouraging. The officers praised the cooperative model through which JKMPCL empowers farmers across J\&K. They also acknowledged the organisation’s dedication to quality, modern technology, and farmer welfare.

For the JKMPCL workforce, this visit boosted morale and reinforced our commitment to transparency and excellence. Having such esteemed officers review our processes was a moment of pride for everyone involved.

Strengthening Trust Through Transparency

The Army’s visit highlighted the importance of maintaining high standards in food safety and production. By opening our facility to respected institutions like the Indian Army, JKMPCL continues to show that our promise of purity is backed by real processes, real systems, and real people working with dedication every day.
