Introduction
To celebrate National Milk Day and to honour Dr. Verghese Kurien, the Father of India’s White Revolution, JKMPCL organised the Snowcap T20 Dairy Farmers’ Cricket League.
This league was created to bring dairy farmers together, encourage teamwork, and highlight the cooperative spirit that JKMPCL follows every day.
Farmers from different areas participated with great excitement, showing their talent not only in dairy but also on the cricket field. The energy, unity, and passion made this tournament truly special.
League Stage – Full of Excitement
The league stage had many fun and thrilling matches. Teams showed strong batting, bowling, and great teamwork. Many matches were close and kept everyone excited till the last ball.
After the league stage, eight teams moved to the Quarter Finals, where the real competition began.
Quarter Finals – The Competition Gets Serious
Day 1 – Matches at M.M Stadium, Ganderbal
The first day of Quarter Finals had two very interesting matches:
Match 1: JKMPCL Resource Persons vs Handwara
JKMPCL Resource Persons played with confidence and won by 14 runs.
Match 2: Sonpah vs Hajin
Sonpah chased the target strongly and won the match by 7 wickets.
Day 2 – Matches at Jablipora Stadium
The next day also brought two strong performances:
Match 3: Snowcap 11 vs Chewakalan
Snowcap 11 won by a huge margin of 78 runs, showing great teamwork.
Match 4: Bandzoo vs Gadbug
Gadbug stayed calm and won the match by 4 wickets.
These four winning teams entered the semifinals.
Semi-Finals – The Road to the Grand Finale
The semifinals took place at TRC Ground, Srinagar. Both matches were full of excitement and great cricket moments.
Semi Final 1: Gadbug vs JKMPCL Resource Persons
JKMPCL Resource Persons played with focus and won by 2 wickets, entering the final.
Semi Final 2: Team Snowcap vs Sonpath
Team Snowcap showed a strong batting performance and won by 5 wickets, securing their place in the final.
Semi-Finals – The Road to the Grand Finale
The final match was played on the eve of National Milk Day, making it even more special.
It was the perfect tribute to Dr. Verghese Kurien, whose vision changed India’s dairy sector.
JKMPCL Resource Persons scored 163/7 in 20 overs.
Team Snowcap chased the target confidently and reached 165/5 in 18.2 overs.
Team Snowcap became the Champions of the Snowcap T20 Dairy Farmers’ Premier League!
This victory was a result of hard work, dedication, and unity.
We were also honoured to have JKMPCL’s Board of Directors and guests from Amul present for the closing ceremony. Their support made the event even more memorable.
Along with the trophy, players who performed well throughout the tournament received special awards and recognition.
